As emerging media has appeared, it has produced real-time generated, interactive visuals, and so it has also given design created by artificial intelligence. The ever-growing presence of such technology with regard to all fields highlights the importance of gaining a better understanding of what AI is. As a matter of fact, AI methods are at the root of most technological enhancements nowadays, and the future holds even more similar changes. However, currently, there is limited in-formation accessible about the use and application of AI methods in more specific fields such as UX design. People have very little understanding of emerging technologies that have existed in actuality for decades already. In addition, current education does not emphasize nor does it provide enough practical information for design students. In reality, for people of all fields, it is considered to be very crucial knowledge. Gaining a more comprehensive understanding regarding the past and current state of such advancements enables a more complex vision of future possibilities.
The human element serves as a great inspiration for this thesis. Initially, most introductions in the chapters come from an analogy of how humans interact and use the human body and mind. To convey the untraditional thought of emerging technologies, futuristic processes are introduced as a part of natural evolution and innovation.
This thesis presents a basic understanding of Interactive Media, UX Design, what AI is, and how some of its methods work as well as tools. The role of AI tools in design is discussed in further detail by providing simple examples. Fresh suggestions are introduced about translating inspiration, culture, expression in humans to the language of AI methods. Furthermore, the study questions how an AI method can be integrated into the process or become the final product itself. Such methods are quite undefined yet and, as a result, produce a sense of limitless opportunities, which present a great starting point.
