Tiivistelmä
Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli toteuttaa tyhjästä Wordpress-teema, joka on täysin yhteensopiva Woocommerce-pohjaisen verkkokaupan kanssa ja Omari oli valittu teeman nimeksi. Opinnäytetyössä selvitettiin myös kustomoidun teeman hyödyllisyyttä www-sivuja kehittävän yrityksen kannalta ja pohdittiin aloitusteeman valintaa vertaamalla Underscore-pohjateemaan. Opinnäytetyön toimeksiantaja oli Suomen nettimyynti Oy, joka toimii verkkokaupan alalla.
Opinnäytetyö oli toiminnallinen, jonka käytännön osa käsitteli pääosin kustomoidun teeman toteutusta. Teematoteutuksen tekniikka koostui Wordpressin antamasta ohjeistuksesta, omista ohjelmointikokemuksista ja internetlähteistä.
Työn tuloksena syntyi kustomoitu Omari-teema, jota voidaan käyttää pohjana verkkokaupan käyttöliittymän suunnittelussa. Tuloksen lisäksi tutkimuksessa havaittiin, että Underscore-aloitusteema toimi paremmin, eikä saavutettavuutta ja hakukoneoptimointia käsittelevään tutkimuskysymykseen pystytty vastaamaan. Tämä johtui opinnäytetyön pääaiheesta, sillä pyydettiin että luodaan räätälöityä teemaa tyhjästä, jota käytetään pohjana jatkokehitykseen, eikä tutkimustyöstä käsitteli CSS- ja HTML-seikkoja. Työn tulokset vastaavat kuitenkin täysin toimeksiantajan odotukseen, sillä teemaa voitaisiin käyttää verkkokauppaan pohjana tulevaisuudessa. The aim of the thesis was to implement a Wordpress theme from scratch that is fully compatible with Woocommerce-based e-commerce and Omari was chosen for theme name. The thesis also investigated the usefulness of a custom theme for a company developing web pages and comparing its starter theme with Underscore base theme. The client of the thesis was Suomen nettimyynti Oy, which is specialized in ecommerce branch.
The thesis was functional mainly dealt with the implementation of the customized theme. The theme implementation technique was implemented following the instructions provided by Wordpress, some technique came from own programming experiences, and from Internet sources.
The result of this thesis was a fully functional Omari theme that can be used as a basis for designing the webshop’s user interface. In addition, the study found the superiority of the Underscore starter theme, also in terms of accessibility and search engine optimization could not be implemented as one of the research questions had posed. This was due to the main topic of the thesis, where to create a customized theme from scratch, which is used as a web template for further development, and the research work did not deal with CSS and HTML. Lastly the result of the work has fully met the client's expectations, as the theme could be used in their ecommerce website in the future.
