Tiivistelmä
This study examined the current procurement system of Ruslania. The company has a growing client base, and the procurement process needs to be optimized in the workflow to speed up the processing of client requests. The automated procurement process will significantly reduce the time spent on procurement by personnel.
The theoretical part introduces the concepts of B2B procurement, selection of suppliers, e-procurement concepts, and its risks. Also, concepts of automation and theories related to optimisation are covered.
The empirical part was implemented through three qualitative semi-structured interviews of three procurement department staff members. After the transcription, the data was analysed by thematising the main ideas in each interview question.
The research outcomes showed that automation of procurement is desirable aim for the company. An automated e-procurement system will enable an effective procurement process and eliminate mistakes in the process. There will be less manual work and less staff time spent on procurement. The staff time saved will be used for other tasks related to everyday business processes. Investing the money and time in automation will also increase the turnover and improve the quality of the services provided by Ruslania.
