The aim of this thesis was to study how Cramo Finland Oy succeeded in motivating employees to use the new system with the change of the new customer relationship management software, and how the new CRM system enhances the employee's motivation to produce high-quality data in the customer relationship management software.
The thesis was done as a quantitative research. The theoretical part includes descriptions of the sales process, the CRM information system as part of customer relationship management and motivation. Victor Vroom’s expectation estimation theory (1964) was used as a theoretical framework, i.e., as part of a research problem.
The study found out the characteristics that motivate staff to use the CRM system effectively. According to the survey, a good introduction to the new CRM system and the ease of use of the system were clearly the most motivating features.
The research results of this thesis can be utilized when considering the employee motivation and reward models, as well as changing new systems from the perspective of employee motivation.
