Tiivistelmä
The purpose of this thesis was to present possible ways to use hydrogen as a promising and dependable source in the clean energy market. This thesis discusses the potential of hydrogen to replace energy based on fossil fuels and nuclear energy used currently. In particular, the safety and environmental concerns pertaining to production of hydrogen are discussed sensibly.
The research continues with a brief evaluation of hydrogen storage and delivery, risks with transportation, as well as its conversion and consumption. The goal of this study is to convince the reader to foresee a hydrogen-based economy, with a focus on hydrogen production from both complementary and progressive energy sources.
The new advancements are affirmed, and an overview is provided about the current situation of affairs concerning the sustainability of an economy based on hydrogen from in depth liter-ature review of previously conducted findings, which may be adopted in Finland.
