Tiivistelmä
In this fast-paced era where everyone owns a gadget in hand, it becomes quite ubiquitous to find out the technological solutions to our existing problems. Mobility has been an important factor in human lives as it is one of the necessities for living. From recent developments shared micro-mobility is the talk of the town. Shared micro-mobility is the next future and also an alternative to the current problematic mechanism of transportation especially in under developing countries. This research will cover how the current transportation sector doesn’t seem to be reliable and sustainable according to present needs and discusses the significance of shared micro-mobility, its impact on climate, public facilitation, and economic factors. By considering, transport sector dilemma in urban areas, research will state the challenges, as well as opportunities, taken into place with the help of shared micro-mobility.
By taking Finland’s approach towards shared micro-mobility, researchers focus on the improvements and specifications made by this transition in cities. This research first examines the current transportation sector in Pakistan and then proposes a model inspired by Finland’s implementation policy to shared micro-mobility. The study will shed light on all the factors that are necessarily important to integrate with this emerging solution of micro-mobility and what difference it will make if not implemented soon. This Thesis by using qualitative study and conducting interviews will answer the problem statement. During this study, interviews with professionals, local authorities, and service providers were conducted. To resolve the current transportation issue, the researcher concluded that policymakers would take specific actions to implement shared micro-mobility in urban areas. By keeping Finland’s policy as a benchmark, Pakistan has a lot more to learn and then implement shared micro-mobility as it is the need of an hour.
