Tiivistelmä
Tämä kehittämisprojekti toteutui työttömille suunnatussa RUORI 2-hankkeen- uutta suuntaa terveyteen, työ- ja toimintakykyyn vertaistuellisessa ryhmässä. Tavoitteena oli saada tietoa käytetyistä vertaistuen menetelmistä sekä selvittää miten vertaistuki on vaikuttanut ryhmään osallistuneiden hyvinvointiin. Haastattelutulosten perusteella on tavoitteena kehittää vertaistuen menetelmiä, jotta niistä olisi mahdollisimman suuri hyöty ryhmään osallistuville.
Tutkimuksellisessa osiossa haastateltiin (n=8) vertaisvalmennuksessa mukana ollutta.
Osallistujat halusivat tulla mahdollisimman itsenäisesti toimeen asioidensa hoitamisessa.

vertaistuki, osallisuus, työttömyys, hyvinvointi This development project was implemented in a peer support group for unemployed persons during the RUORI 2 project. The main goal of this work was to gather knowledge of the methods of peer support that were used in the group, and to investigate how the peer support affected the participants and supported their wellbeing. Based on the interviews, the methods of peer support were further developed, in order to increase the benefit for the participants.
According to Statistics Finland, there were 200 000 (±18 000) unemployed persons in Finland in February 2019, which was 33000 less than the last year. The number of unemployed was declining at all ELY districts. The data has shown that the peer support has a positive impact for employment of currently unemployed persons, and it also has increased their wellbeing, general quality of life, and helped to preserve their functional abilities.
During the data collection phase, eight persons (n = 8) who participated in the peer coaching were interviewed. All these persons were currently unemployed, Finnish, and lived in Salo. Two of the interviews were distant and done via telephone, and six interview were conducted in situ at Salo. The distant interviews were done first, as a pilot interviews, in order to assess the quality of questions and based on these pilot interviews the questions were still formulated to be more accurate. The pilot interviews were also taken in the analysis, because the observations made are comparable to actual interviews in Salo.
The methods of peer support in the group included physical exercise, for example gym and bowling. These kind of activities were described to be important form of support, and it appeared to be easy to participate to them. Everyone said also that photography and phototherapy was an important part of the group. Belonging to a group had revitalized the participants, and increased their wellbeing and resources to manage their life and perform their daily activities.
Based on the interviews and data analysis, the peer support group was proven to be beneficial, and participating in the group had a positive impact for a quality of life and helped to improve the functional abilities of the participants. For a further development, it was suggested that perhaps there should be separate groups for men and women, more support and guiding to healthy lifestyle, and also more coaching to gain the necessary skills for managing the duties and responsibilities towards the authorities via the internet, as well as guiding to how to get required support when necessary. The participants wanted to developed their skills in order to be able to manage their own life and take care of their responsibilities as independently as possible.
