Handledning ur handledarnas synvinkel : en kvalitativ studie om hur handledningen upplevs och tillämpas på praktikfältet

Abstract

Syftet med detta examensarbete är att undersöka handledning ur handledarnas synvinkel under vårdstuderandes kliniska praktik. Respondenterna har tagit fasta på handledarnas upplevelser av handledningen samt hur den tillämpas i praktiken. De frågor som ställdes till materialet i studien var: Hur upplever de kliniska handledarna handledningen under sjukskötarstuderandes praktik? Och hur tillämpas handledningen i praktiken? Studien ingår som en del i SuperNurse Botnia 2 projektet och intervjuerna som användes som datainsamlingsmetod fick respondenterna tillgång till genom projektet. Dataanalysmetoden som användes var innehållsanalys. Patricia Benners och Margaretha Ekeberghs teorier formade de teoretiska utgångspunkterna för studien och resultatet av studien tolkades mot den tidigare forskningen som bestod av tio vårdvetenskapliga forskningar. Resultatet visade i huvudsak att tiden inte upplevs räcka till för både handledning och vårdarbete samt att handledarna upplever ett behov av skolning för handledarskap. Informanterna upplevde handledningen som positiv eftersom handledningen bidrog till ömsesidigt lärande och de fick även möjlighet att se studerandes utveckling.

The purpose of this study is to examine supervision from the supervisor’s perspective in nursing students’ clinical practice. The respondents have focused on the supervisor’s experience of the supervision and how it is applied in practice. The questions posed to the material in the study were: How do the clinical supervisors experience the supervision during nursing students’ clinical practice? And how is the supervision applied in practice? The study is a part of the SuperNurse Botnia 2 project and the respondents received access to the interviews that were used as data collection method through this project. Content analysis was used as data analysis method. Patricia Benner’s and Margaretha Ekebergh’s theories formed the theoretical basis for the study and the results of the study were interpreted against previous research, which consisted of ten studies in healthcare science. The results showed essentially that the supervisors’ experience that there is not enough time for both supervision and care work and that they perceive a need for training in supervision. The informants experienced the supervision of students as positive since it contributed to mutual learning and they even had the opportunity to see the students’ development.
