Tiivistelmä
The purpose of making a manual for Heinolan Kiekko junior ice-hockey club was to provide a tool for coaches everyday work in the field. The manual gives information about teaching game sense for junior hockey players. The manual also provides general guidelines and tips to everyday coaching and works as an alignment of coaching in Heinolan Kiekko.
Heinolan Kiekko is middle size junior ice-hockey club located in Heinola Finland. Heinolan Kiekko was founded in 1984 and has been working since. Heinolan Kiekko is the only ice-hockey junior club in Heinola.
Heinolan Kiekko already has a manual for coaches named Player Development Guidebook for Heinolan Kiekko. The new manual is made to support the old one and is only focused on teaching game sense and game itself.
In Heinolan Kiekko, the game itself is the first priority in coaching. Through this product we want our coaches to have the same guidelines in coaching and to enhance the importance and knowledge of teaching the game and game sense.
The manual consists of following chapters: 1. Introduction 2. Game sense 3. Teaching game sense 4. Cognitive development of the child and youngster 5. Game-situation roles 6. Priorities in ice-hockey 7. Empirical part 8. Summary and discussion 9. Resources
The manual is written in Finnish and visceral style for our coaches to be able to read it.
