Oriasema-asiakkaan opas

Abstract

Toiminnallisen opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli kirjoittaa opas oriaseman asiakkaille siittoloiden toiminnasta ja astutusprojektista kokonaisuudessaan. Tarve syntyi oriaseman asiakaskuntaa seuraamalla, jolloin nähtävillä oli tiedon puuttuminen astutusprojektin käytännöistä. Tavoitteena oli saada aikaiseksi niin kattava opas, että ennen oriasemalle saapumista tammaansa ensi kertaa astuttava olisi tietoinen oriaseman pelisäännöistä ja parhaista keinoista saada tamma kantavaksi. Tämä edesauttaa tamman tiinehtymistä, mutta helpottaa myös oriaseman työntekijöiden työtä, kun kaikki osapuolet tietävät kuinka toimia.

Oppaan tekoa varten toteutettiin kysely Digium Enterprise -ohjelmalla kaudella 2012 toimineille oriasemille ja heidän eläinlääkäreilleen. Vastausprosentiksi saatiin 33. Kyselyn vastauksia käytettiin oppaassa muiden lähteiden ohella, mutta ne nostettiin esille erityisesti tiivistelmälaatikoissa ja vaikuttivat oppaan sisällön rakenteeseen. Muina lähteinä käytettiin muun muassa Ypäjän siittolaeläinlääkäri- ja siittola-avustajakurssin luentodioja.

Oppaan kohderyhmänä olivat oriasemien asiakkaista tammanomistajat. Opas haluttiin toteuttaa helposti lähestyttäväksi, joten ulkoasuun suunniteltiin paljon väliotsikoita, tiivistelmälaatikoita sekä värillisiä piirroksia. Lopullinen ulkomuoto oppaalle oli lähes 100-sivuinen kierrevihko A5-kokoiseksi painettuna (148 x 220 mm.)

The purpose of the functional thesis was to write a guidebook to stallion stations about mating a mare and also the function of the stud farms. The need for the guide was realized by observing customers at a stud farm, which showed a lack of knowledge of the basics of mating a mare. The aim of the thesis was to produce a comprehensive guidebook that would help an owner of a mare to understand the norms of a stallion stable and also offer information about the best ways to get the mare pregnant. This promotes the mare to begin gestation but makes the employees of stud farms work easier as well.

To obtain information for the guidebook, a questionnaire was made with Digium Enterprise software. The respondents were stallion stations and their veterinarians working in the season 2012. The response rate was 33. The results were exploited especially in the summary boxes and they impacted the content structure. Other references used in this guidebook among others were the handouts of the lectures in Ypäjä for veterinarians and artificial inseminators of stud farms.

The target group for the guidebook was owners of a mare, that is to say, customers of a stud farm. The guidebook was designed to be approachable, so the pages have plenty of headlines, summary boxes and colorful drawings. The final appearance was nearly 100 pages printed on the paper size A5 (148 x 210 mm.)
