Xerox-tulostusajurin käyttöönottotestaus

Abstract

Tämä opinnäytetyö käsittelee Xeroxin tulostusajurin käyttöönottotestausta. Asiakas, jolle Xerox tuotti tulostuspalvelut, oli siirtymässä Windows 8 –käyttöjärjestelmään. Tavoitteena oli testata kaikkien tulostimien toiminta sekä Windows 8 että Windows 7 –käyttöjärjestelmissä asiakkaan käyttöympäristössä. Testaus suoritettiin asiakkaalla yleisesti käytössä olevilla ohjelmilla, muun muassa Office 2010 –ohjelmilla, ja testidokumentit jäljittelivät asiakkaan käyttämiä dokumentteja. Testauksessa otettiin huomioon tulostimien eri tulostusominaisuudet ja niiden toimiminen yhteen eri käyttöjärjestelmien kanssa. Testattava ajuri oli Xeroxin yleistulostusajuri. Testausvaiheessa ei ilmennyt mitään ongelmia ja kaikki testit tulostuivat niin kuin pitikin. Tulostusajuri toimi kaikilla testatuilla käyttöjärjestelmillä. Kun kaikki testauksen vaiheet oli onnistuneesti suoritettu, ajurit ladattiin asiakkaan verkossa olevaan tulostusportaaliin ja sitä kautta heidän käyttöönsä. Opinnäytetyön valmistuessa testatut ajurit olivat olleet käytössä noin kaksi kuukautta, eikä sinä aikana raportoitu mitään ongelmia.

This thesis describes the Xerox print driver testing of Windows 8 operating system. The customer to whom Xerox produced print services was transferring into the Windows 8 operating system. The aim was to test the activity of all printers with both Windows 8 and Windows 7 operating systems, in client operating environment. The testing was performed with common programs such as Office 2010 programs and the documents used in the test were similar to the ones used by the client. The testing took into account the various printers, printing features and their compatibility with different operating systems. The tested driver was the Xerox Global Print Driver. No problems occurred during the test and all test prints were as those supposed to be. The print driver worked with all tested operating systems. After all the testing steps were successfully completed the driver was loaded into the customer’s print portal where they can load the driver. By the completion of thesis process the tested drivers had been in use for circa two months and no problems were reported during that time.
