Tiivistelmä
I denna fallstudie undersöktes företaget H. Lönnroth Oy:s projektbudgetering. The purpose of this case study was to analyze the project budgeting of H. Lönnroth Ltd. The company does not conduct followups on their project budgets and therefore the study aimed at comparing four project budgets to their actual outcomes. Performance measurements were performed on the summarized values of the deviation analysis for a better illustration of the subject. Variables chosen for the performance measurement were direct costs i.e. salary- and material costs since they are the biggest resource expenditures in projects. This case includes a theory part and an empirical case study. The theory part discusses some main principles of renovation, the different elements of budgeting and also an analysis of the performance measurement. In the practical part both qualitative and quantitative methods of research were used. By collecting information from the different sub operations, the total costs were calculated for the budgeted projects. The differences found in the deviation analysis and in the performance measurement were analyzed. H. Lönnroth Ltd does not achieve the estimated budget to 100 percent, because of coworkers working more efficiently than budgeted. The total deviation shows a 9 percent difference to the budget. The results of this study suggest the company continues using the same budgeting procedures. It is unsure if the usefulness of introducing budget follow-ups for projects would be as great as the expense of it.
