Tietotestissä on 24 monivalintakysymystä. Kysymyksiä laadittiin kahta eri tyyppiä: yhden oikean vastauksen kysymyksiä ja useamman oikean vastauksen kysymyksiä. Ennakkomateriaali on laadittu PowerPoint-muotoon ja tietotesti on laadittu Webropol-kyselytyökalulla. Medication knowledge and skills are a significant part of a paramedics’ professional skills. This know-how develops through the whole career by advancing theoretical knowledge and by executing practical work. Administrating medication aseptically and safely is emphasized in prehospital emergency care where the care is administered far away from a hospital and a doctor can be consulted only by the phone.
The assignment of this thesis came from Turku University of Applied Sciences. The purpose of the thesis is to create preparatory material and an assessment test regarding aseptic and safe medication for early-stage paramedic students at Turku university of applied sciences. The goal of the thesis is to advance the knowledge of the early-stage paramedic students regarding aseptic and safe medication administration and improve patient and medication safety by this mechanism. Early-stage paramedic students will get an introductory overview of aseptic and safe medication knowledge through our preparatory material and the assessment test.
The sources of this thesis were composed of established literature of the health sector, articles, studies, Finnish law and decrees. The theoretical framework of the thesis was reinforced with international articles and studies. The field of pharmacological treatment is strongly guided and regulated, and this can be seen in our selection of the source material.
This thesis resulted in preparatory material and an assessment test based on the preparatory material. There are 24 multiple choice questions in the test. Some of the questions have only one correct answer and some have multiple correct ones. The preparatory material was created in the form of a PowerPoint presentation and the assessment test was created with Webropol survey tool.
