On January 30th, 2020, World Health Organization (WHO) has put COVID-19 as a Public Health Emergency
of International Concern (PHEIC). Then it announced publicly and officially that COVID-19 as a pan-demic on
March 11th, 2020. Facing the new and unknown virus, nurses have significantly higher risk of mental illness
such as stress, depression, anxiety, burnout, and more.
The purpose of the thesis is to provide information about nurses’ coping in COVID-19 pandemic that nurses
and other health care professionals could use. The aim of this literature review is to identify the coping
measures and nurses’ mental health conditions facing COVID-19 in different countries. The literatures we
chose included articles that discussed and analyzed the nurse’s mental health problems and dealing meth ods from all over the world. The literatures chosen are published papers and are inclusive and persuasive as
much as possible. The literature search from database: PubMed.
By studied 12 academic articles from different countries, the results shows that the coping method for
nurse’s mental health can be working environment & condition improving & training; Infection prevention
training and instruction.; Protective equipment supply; Daily physical activity, food & nutrition, and other
support; Psychological and emotional support and more.
