Tekniken bakom 2G, 3G och 4G : En översikt av det mobila nätverket

Abstract

Det mobila nätet växer för varje dag som går. Redan på 1980-talet kunde man ringa med sin mobiltelefon men då visste man inte ens om att man en dag ska kunna använda sin mobiltelefon som en handdator. Idag är det möjligt att surfa på nätet via sin telefon eller dator när man sitter i bussen eller på sommarstugan. Detta är med hjälp av mobila nät. Det finns många olika tekniker och de vanligaste är 3G och 4G. I detta examensarbete får vi läsa om hur dessa tekniker utvecklades från första början tills hur det fungerar idag. Det gås närmare in på hur 3G och 4G tekniken fungerar, men också lite om hur 2G tekniken fungerar. Dessutom så tas det upp undersökningar av testresultat angående 4G nätets hastigheter i olika områden. Avsikten med dessa tester är för att läsaren ska få en större insikt i hur nätet egentligen fungerar emot vad operatören lovar. Det tas också upp om mobila nätet är bra nog för att kunna ersätta den fasta anslutningen. Det mobila nätets framtid tas också upp då det berättas lite om vad vi kan vänta oss i framtiden och hur det mobila nätet kommer att utvecklas.

The mobile network is growing every day that passes. As early as the 1980s you were able to make a call from your cell phone without knowing that one day you actually are able to use your mobile phone as a hand computer. Today it’s possible to browse the internet with your mobile phone or computer when sitting on the bus or visiting your summer cottage. This is possible with the help of the mobile network. There are many different technologies behind the mobile network and the most common are the 3G and the 4G network. In this thesis we can read about how the different technologies were developed from the first day until now. The main topics are about the 3G and the 4G networks, although there will also be some explanation on how the 2G network works. There will also be some research about different test results on the 4G network in different areas. The pur-pose of these tests are to get a bigger insight to the reader on how the network actually works compared to what the operator promises. You can also read about if the mobile network is able to replace a dedicated connection. The future of the mobile network is also brought it and there’s some discussion on what to come in the future and how the mobile network will continue be developed.
