Pintakäsittelyalan opetussuunnitelman kehittäminen rakennusperinteen säilyttämisen pohjalta

Abstract

Toimin Porvoon ammattiopiston pintakäsittelylinjan opettajana. Olen kehittänyt opinnäytetyössäni pintakäsittelylinjan opetussuunnitelmaa, jossa on otettu huomioon Porvoon kulttuurihistoriallisesti merkittävän vanhan rakennuskannan säilyttäminen sekä alueelliset tarpeet elinkeinoelämän puolelta.

Vanhojen rakennusten säilyttämisessä tarvitaan monipuolisia tietoja ja taitoja. Pintakäsittelyn näkökulmasta tarkasteltuna näitä ovat mm. rakennustutkimus, puurakenteiden korjaus, ulkomaalaustyöt perinteisin menetelmin kivi- ja puupintoihin sekä ikkunoiden ja ovien kunnostus. Sisäpintojen pintakäsittelyihin kuuluvat koristemaalaukset, paperoinnit ja tapetointityöt. Näitä osa-alueita olen sisällyttänyt uuteen opetussuunnitelmaan.

Tein alueen yrittäjille tutkimuskyselyn, josta sain hyödyllistä tietoa opetussuunnitelman kehittämistä varten. Tutkimuskyselyn tuloksista selvisi, että vanhojen perinteisten materiaalien ja menetelmien tuntemus on yritysten mielestä erittäin tärkeää vanhojen rakennusten kunnostamisessa. Tämä osaaminen on vähenemässä. Perinteisten materiaalien tuntemusta tulisi olla enemmän rakennusalalla. Kyselyn tarkoituksena oli myös kehittää oppilaitoksen yhteistyötä yritysten ja Porvoon Museon kanssa sekä hyödyntää erikoisosaaminen, jota yrityksistä saattaa löytyä. Kyselyn kautta löytyi uusia yhteistyömuotoja.

Valitsin valtakunnallisesta pintakäsittelyalan opetussuunnitelmasta tutkintojen osia, joiden sisältöä muokkaamalla ja opetusympäristöä kehittämällä opetussuunnitelma vastaa nyt paremmin ympäristön asettamiin tarpeisiin.

I work as a surface treatment teacher at Porvoo Vocational College. This thesis includes the development of the curriculum of the Surface Treatment Technology Department. In the curriculum, the cultural building heritage in Porvoo and the in neighbouring area and municipalities was taken into account. The requirements of business life in the area of Porvoo were also paid attention to.

The preservation of old buildings requires diverse skills and knowledge. These include the analysis of buildings, the reparation of tree structures, the traditional painting of wooden, plastered and stone surfaces, and the reparation of old win-dows and doors. Decorative painting, papering and wall-papering skills are also needed. The new curriculum consists of the above areas of expertise.

I made an inquiry among the entrepreneurs in the area, which gave me valuable and useful information for the development of the curriculum. The inquiry confirms that the knowledge of old traditional materials and methods is important when you repair or restore old buildings. In the building branch, there should be more knowledge of traditional materials. The purpose of the inquiry was also to develop co-operation with companies and the Museum of Porvoo. In this way, it is possible to utilize the special know-how that may be found in the building branch. New ways to cooperate with companies were found.

From the national curriculum of the surface treatment technology, I chose parts of degrees the content of which I reworked. I also diversified the existing learning environment. As a result of this, the curriculum now meets the needs of the operational environment better.
