Tiivistelmä
This diary thesis is written to report daily activities, tasks of a software developer working at a global company in Finland. Additionally, weekly observations are documented to reflect the author’s findings, challenges and development during each week. The observation period of the thesis is from 04.10.2021 to 10.12.2021.
This thesis consists of four parts: the introduction, the framework, daily observations and the conclusion.
Introduction part mainly focuses on the company and product as these two subtopics construct the core content of the thesis. Additionally, this part provided some background information about the author as well as a brief discussion about the technical stack of the application.
Theoretical framework section is summary of my current work analysis. In addition to that, the section briefly mentions about different internal and external stakeholders who forms the group of people the author mainly interacts with. The last part of this section explains common tools or methods which used for communication between different parties within the project.
Daily observations describes the author’s daily task and objectives day by day. This part of the report also reflects on the challenges and achievements based on observation notes and daily logs of the author.
The main objective of this thesis was to demonstrate the daily practices of a software developer working in a big-scale company. These practices include regular activities, learnings and overcoming difficult challenges which are demanded by agile way of software development processes applied in the project.
As a conclusion, writing this diary thesis was a highly interesting journey. The author learned better understanding of different areas in software development process. Additionally, it led the author to improve his existing competencies, learn his own topics of interest and motivate him to take more responsibilities in this field.
