EnOcean antenna, KNX DALI and IKEA TRÅDFRI gateway interconnection and communication possibilities through Wiser for KNX

Abstract

The target of the project was to explore the possibilities of smart lighting from various brands and manufacturers and to implement an intelligent lighting network. The system was aimed to be easily configurable and extensible. Future-proof industry standards were utilized in the network. Besides, a pleasant and intuitively understandable graphical user interface (GUI) was created to control smart lights and monitor environmental data on site. The first part of the report contains an overview of modern house and building automation technologies. Smart solutions from different manufacturers are discussed and a theoretical background is given there. The second part of the report includes an intelligent network solution with Wiser for KNX as a gateway. Wiser for KNX was connected to EnOcean antenna, Philips Hue ZigBee Bridge, and the KNX DALI-gateway. The setup was partially programmed in the ETS 5 software and partially with the LUA scripting. The project was targeted to meet the individual requirements of the customer what is successfully achieved.
