Tiivistelmä
This thesis was commissioned by Wärtsilä Finland Oyj. The objective of this thesis was to identify and create a summary of mandatory and voluntary class notations impacting SCR systems on sea going ships, either from a technical or design perspective.
The work was done by examining the rules of nine different classification societies and categorizing the impact of different notations on SCR systems with a qualifier “yes”, “no” or “maybe”.
The outcome is presented as an Excel spreadsheet containing notations categorized by the classification society together with a brief explanation and a reference to the source data.
The created spreadsheet will help Wärtsilä’s sales, engineering and delivery teams in requiring information for future projects, giving them a quick overview of impacting notations affecting SCR systems.
