Tiivistelmä
The future of finance is already here, even though it might be seen as it belongs to a distant future. Revolutionary technology such as decentralized network strives to lower the level of trust between different participants. Securing transactions through a blockchain network is not controlled by a single entity or individual.

This thesis aimed to find out how decentralized network technology works. The goal was to explore how decentralized networks operate at their core. Moreover, finding out how to interact with the blockchain, as well as to connect the web application to it. Indeed, the focus was mainly to analyze and research what are the key elements that play an essential role in the success of this new technology. Therefore, it is explained at a higher level this revolutionary technology, without going into too many details. The thesis includes two main parts, the first one is a more theoretical approach and the second one is the practical implementation of the project.
Some limitations were unavoidable, for instance, going into the lower level of blockchain technology goes beyond the scope of this study, even though it might be needed in some parts to provide a better understanding. Various concepts regarding smart contracts (with pros and cons), blockchain, decentralized protocols, and how it works were studied. After the research was concluded, the next part was to create a full-fledged blockchain application (web app) that interacts with a decentralized network and allows users to send and receive transactions through the blockchain. The project was ready and deployed to web hosting.

The goal of this project was reached by finalizing, building, and deploying a full-fledged blockchain application. The blockchain application is completed, and the source code of it can be found on the GitHub repository (the link to the project repository is provided in Appendix 1).
