The purpose of the thesis was to figure out if Tweets made about cryptocurrencies have an impact on the market prize of those currencies. There was no commissioner for the thesis, it was done for personal reasons.
First, the central concepts related to the social media platform Twitter were explained and general information on cryptocurrency were given. The thesis sought to test the Microsoft Power Automate tool, which was used for a sentiment analysis on Tweets. The hashtags of the three cryptocurrencies Bitcoin, Ethereum and Tether were included. The data was then analysed and a prediction for the future of those three currencies was carried out.
Based on the analysis, it can be suggested that using sentiment analysis from Power Automate for some cryptocurrencies does work out. But it is sometimes not sufficient for other cryptocurrencies. The period of gathering the data was with two weeks not long enough, to give a sufficient predictive analysis.
