I dagens samhälle finns många olika preventivmetoder att välja mellan, både moderna och mera traditionella metoder. Detta examensarbete handlar om naturliga preventivmetoder och deras effektivitet och tillförlitlighet. Studiens syfte är att beskriva de olika naturliga preventivmetoderna och deras effektivitet. Studien görs för att kunna ge tillförlitlig och evidensbaserad kunskap åt hälso- och sjukvårdspersonal.
Som forskningsmetod har ”scoping review” använts och för att summera resultatet gjordes en beskrivande resultatredovisning. Totalt 10 artiklar inkluderades i studien. Som teoretisk utgångspunkt har Nola J. Penders hälsofrämjande modell använts.
Studiens resultat visar att vid typisk användning är symtotermalmetoden, laktationsamenorrémetoden och kombinationsanvändning av Billingsmetod + fertilitetsmonitor de mest effektiva naturliga preventivmetoderna. De minst effektiva metoderna är kalendermetoden och avbrutet samlag. Många av de naturliga preventivmetoderna är effektiva ifall de används korrekt och kontinuerligt.
Studiens slutsats är att naturliga preventivmetoder verkar effektivt kunna förhindra oavsiktliga graviditeter vid perfekt användning. Vid typisk användning kan symtotermalmetoden, laktationsamenorrémetoden och kombinationsanvändning av Billingsmetod + fertilitetsmonitor vara effektiva. Hjälpmedel så som mobilapplikationer och p-datorer verkar höja preventivmetodernas effektivitet.

Naturliga preventivmetoders effektivitet att skydda mot graviditet varierar och det är svårt att hitta tillförlitlig information om ämnet. Syftet med utvecklingsarbetet är att sprida information om naturliga preventivmetoders effektivitet och vad som påverkar den till hälsovårdspersonal. För att uppnå syftet skrivs en artikel till tidskriften ”Vård i Fokus”.

Naturliga preventivmetoders tillförlitlighet varierar och påverkas av användaren. Olika hjälpmedel verkar öka tillförlitligheten. Risken för graviditet är stor ifall metoderna inte används korrekt och kontinuerligt. Enligt nuvarande finländska rekommendationer kan naturliga preventivmetoder inte rekommenderas inom preventivrådgivningen. Ifall naturliga preventivmetoder presenteras behöver rådgivningspersonalen ha tillräckligt med kunskap. Today there are many contraceptive methods available. This study is about natural contraceptive methods and their effectiveness and reliability. The purpose with the study is to describe different contraceptive methods and their effectiveness. The aim is to provide health care professionals with reliable and evidence-based knowledge about natural contraceptive methods.
A scoping review was used to answer the research question and a descriptive conclusion was made to present the results. A total of 10 articles were included in the study. As theoretical framework Nola J. Penders health promotion model was used.
The result indicates that the symptothermal method, the lactational amenorrhea method and a mix of Billings ovulation method and fertility monitor are the most efficient natural methods of contraception with typical use. The least effective methods based on the result are the calendar method and the withdrawal method. Many natural contraception methods are effective with correct and continuously use.
It seems that natural contraceptive methods effectively can prevent unplanned pregnancies if the methods are used correct and continuously. With typical use can the symptothermal method, the lactational amenorrhea method and a mix of Billings ovulation method and fertility monitor also be effective. Mobile applications and p-computers seems to increase the effectiveness of the methods. Development project:
