E-commerce is the buying and selling process of different products, and goods by using web services and internet technology. The process of online buying, selling, transferring, and exchanging of products, services and information is e-commerce. The primary purpose of this study was to examine the impact of E-Commerce on the creation of job opportunities, scope, and associated risk with the top-rated E-Commerce platforms and their turnover in Pakistan as well as analyze the scope and job opportunities in the field of e-commerce in Pakistan, to investigate the risk associated with e-commerce and the perception of customers in Pakistan and to investigate top-rated e-commerce platforms and their turn-over (2016-2021) in Pakistan.
This study was conducted in Pakistan in 2022. A total of 370 respondents were interviewed for data collection. The findings of this study indicate that the respondent has different education level. The ratio of females was higher at (53.78%) as compared to males (46.21%) and most of the respondents (31%) did private jobs followed by students (28%). Most of the sellers daraz.com.pk for their e-commerce activities and the daraz.com.pk was the most important online platform (52.8%) for online work mostly used by people in Pakistan followed by Amazon (17.4%). The satisfaction level of the respondents indicates that (49%) show a 70% to 80% satisfaction level with the survives of e-commerce. The minimum turnover of 1438 billion $ was recorded in 2017.
The province-wise turnover of e-commerce in Pakistan indicated that Punjab was on top and get a share of (55%), followed by Sindh (36%), KPK (5%) minimum turnover was recorded in Baluchistan (2%), and AJ&K (2%).
