Examensarbete:
Syftet med examensarbetet är att utforska utifrån redan existerande litteratur vilka metoder som används för att förebygga njursjukdomar vid diabetes typ 2 samt hur hälsovårdaren med hjälp av motiverande samtal kan stödja patienten att förebygga njursjukdomar vid diabetes typ 2.
I bakgrunden presenteras diabetes typ 2, dess riskfaktorer och behandling. Dessutom presenteras diabetisk njursjukdom, hälsovårdarens yrkesroll, preventionsnivåerna samt motiverande samtal. Metoden för examensarbetet är scoping review. Dataanalysen gjordes på basen av 10 vetenskapliga artiklar. Som teoretisk utgångspunkt för examensarbetet valdes den ontologiska hälsomodellen av Katie Eriksson.
I resultatet framkom det att genom identifiering och snabb behandling av riskfaktorer kan man förebygga utvecklingen och framskridandet av njursjukdomar vid diabetes typ 2. Effekten av motiverande samtal vid förebyggande av njursjukdomar var inte entydig, men i bästa fall kan motiverande samtal ha en positiv inverkan på hälsoindikatorer, egenmakt, beredskap för beteendeförändring samt psykiskt mående.
Utvecklingsarbete:
Detta utvecklingsarbete utgår ifrån examensarbetet ”Att förebygga njursjukdomar vid typ 2-diabetes – en scoping studie” (Kronqvist, 2022). I examensarbetet undersöktes vilka metoder som används för att förebygga njursjukdomar vid diabetes typ 2 och hur man som hälsovårdare kan med hjälp av motiverande samtal som metod stödja patienten att förebygga njursjukdomar vid diabetes typ 2. Resultaten påvisade att genom effektiv identifiering och förebyggande av riskfaktorer vid diabetes typ 2 kan man bromsa och förhindra progressionen av njursjukdomar. I resultatet framkom det även att motiverande samtal kan i bästa fall påverka hälsoindikatorer, egenmakt, beredskap för beteende förändring och psykiskt mående hos dessa patienter.
Baserat på dessa resultat beslöt respondenten att utveckla ett diskussionsunderlag för hälsovårdare som stöd vid motiverande samtal med diabetes typ 2 patienter. Målet med utvecklingsarbetet är att förbättra hälsovårdarnas kunnande inom motiverande samtal samt stöda hälsovårdaren under diskussioner. Diskussionsunderlaget skall underlätta hälsovårdarens arbete genom information, kommunikationstips och praktiska exempel. Diskussionsunderlaget kan även användas av andra yrkesgrupper som kommer i kontakt med diabetes typ 2-patienter. Bachelor’s thesis:
The purpose of the thesis is to explore from already existing literature which methods are used to prevent kidney disease in type 2 diabetes and how the public health nurse can, with the help of motivational interviewing, support the patient to prevent kidney disease in type 2 diabetes.
In the background, type 2 diabetes, its risk factors and treatment are presented. In addition, diabetic kidney disease, the public health care nurses professional role, prevention levels and motivational interviewing are presented. The method for this thesis is scoping review. The data analysis was done based on 10 scientific articles. The ontological health model by Katie Eriksson was chosen for the theoretical framework of the thesis.
The results showed that by identifying and rapidly treating the risk factors, the development and progression of kidney disease in type 2 diabetes can be prevented. The effect of motivational interviewing in the prevention of kidney diseases was not unambiguous, but in the best case, motivational interviewing can have a positive effect on health indicators, self-management, readiness for behavioural changes and mental health. This development project is based on the thesis " To prevent kidney diseases in type 2 diabetes - a scoping study" (Kronqvist, 2022). The thesis investigated which methods are used to prevent kidney disease in type 2 diabetes and how the public health nurse can, with the help of motivational interviewing, support the patient to prevent kidney disease in type 2 diabetes. Based on these results, the respondent decided to develop a base for discussion for public health nurses as support for motivational interviewing with type 2 diabetes patients. The goal of the development project is to improve the public health nurses' knowledge of motivational interviewing and to support them during these discussions. The base for discussion should facilitate the public health nurses work through information, communication tips and practical examples. The discussion material can also be used by other professionals who encounter type 2 diabetes patients.
