Abstract

In today's dynamic world, competitiveness has gained considerable attention, as countries and firms are constantly working to be more competitive to achieve their long-term economic goals. Some frameworks and models determine a level of competitiveness, such as Porter's diamond model and emerald model, which are used in this study. A strong cluster helps the startup form, grow, and develop and affects the big firms to achieve a competitive advantage. In general, firms and institutions within a cluster support each other's growth. Innovation is the lifeblood of business and a significant source of economic growth. The data is collected by applying a qualitative approach. The availability of rich and high-quality secondary data has enhanced this study. There were various interviews of direct representatives of Apple, which has made the research more valuable and reliable. The result shows the importance of successful clusters in achieving a competitive advantage. Silicon Valley IT cluster is one of the world's most advanced, flourished, and innovative IT clusters. The firm within the organization has various advantages that have contributed to its competitiveness. Apple is one of the biggest companies globally that produces a variety of products and focuses on innovation to meet the changing market demand. Hence, this motivates the author to study the contribution of a cluster to achieve a competitive advantage.
