Cloud computing has contributed to the advancement in data processing, storing, and sharing. Cloud computing can deliver cost-effective, readily available, and manageable services that replace the traditional computing method, which was expensive and not readily available to everyone. This thesis aimed to discuss the concept of cloud computing and the major security issues present in it and suggest a few methods to mitigate the issues. This thesis provides a brief history of cloud computing, including its types and service models.
This thesis also discusses the uses of cloud computing in various sectors such as gaming, social networking, and the Internet of Things. It also provides information about the threats present in the cloud environment as well as ways to mitigate them. The qualitative method was used to collect the data presented in this thesis which was gathered using broad secondary data collection and research approaches, which involve collecting information from secondary sources such as journals, articles, online materials, forums, and research papers. The thesis concludes that the future of cloud service depends on the proper use of security measures including multi-factor authentication or cloud cryptography will bring positive economic and functional benefits.
