The New Business Plan for Hertta Krouvi Oy – Transforming A Local Company into a More Significant Enterprise.

Abstract

The current thesis project aims to create a business plan for the Finnish/Mediterranean cuisine-oriented restaurant-café located in the downtown area of Porlammi, Lapinjärvi, which has been a local café for 35 years. Mainly the literature list includes books about business plan development and sources used for the project's research process. The main goals and objectives of the thesis work are the settlement of the actual business plan for the restaurant industry, its planning, realisation, financial support, and implementation into reallife conditions. The objectives were reached throughout the product, operations, services development, organisation, promotion, and financing. The critical financial theories were approved in the practical part with the actual calculations and all necessary estimations. The author has also considered specific industry changes that might be applied for the project's further development. The idea of the current thesis work belongs to its author, and the business plan itself might be used as a tool for negotiations with potential investors. First, the author has completed the literature review to build the practical part further. Then the author surveyed to approve the information in the theoretical framework. The other chapters and subchapters were added to support the gathered information and fulfil the work's plot. The project's outcome helped the author realise what scenarios may be faced when becoming a new business owner to an existing company, especially about permissions as a non-native in Finland. All the goals being reached, and the final business plan can be used as a tool for the search for potential investors and the actual project implementation.
