Tiivistelmä
Voimauttavan valokuvan kuplassa on toiminnallinen opinnäytetyö, jonka tilaajana toimi Espoon kaupunki. Voimauttava valokuva on Miina Savolaisen kehittelemä sosiaalipedagoginen menetelmä, jota voidaan hyödyntää monipuolisesti erilaisissa sosiaalialan asiakastöissä.

Sivut 69 sivua ja liitteitä 2 sivua The bubble of the Empowering photography contains a functional thesis commissioned by the city of Espoo. The Empowering photography is social pedagogical method developed by Miina Savolainen, which can be utilized in variety of ways in the social sector. I created an
empowering photography group of unaccompanied minors. In the group participant was given the opportunity to reflect on their own identity through a different way of looking and being seen. The way was supported via the photos and other participants in the group. Photographs are not the focus of this study, but dialogicity and being seen.
Eight times the group was implemented from February to May 2022. Before the official start of the group, I invited the participants personally, I went physically meet participants in a family group home with my presentation. A total of five participants took part in the group activity. The group composition varied between sessions. Two similar episodes were included in the group, so the participants had the opportunity to participate in either one or both episodes. I used interpreters in those group sessions when it was essential for intelligibility.
The research questions dealt with the participant's own personal identity work, being seen in the group and the service model. The thesis was carried out using participatory action research and ethnographic research. Open interview, observation, and probe (research
diary) served as data collection methods. The materials complemented each other and the research methods. The material was analyzed using material-oriented thematic analysis.
A group of empowering photography enabled an invisible space in the middle of everyday life. I call this space the bubble of an empowering photography. In the bubble of an empowering photography, one practices, among other things, was a gentle way of looking at oneself and others. Practicing this gentle look was not easy, but the participants developed it during the group. The research results revealed that there will continue to be a needed for self-identity work and a gentler look at oneself. Working with the empowering photography method, it was possible to make everyone in the group visible from their own starting points. The group was experimental, and the experiment resulted in a service model that can be used and further developed in the planning of the following groups.
