The purpose of the thesis was to describe the features and integration needs of the warehouse management and ordering system to be acquired for the company's use with other company systems. The work involved describing the location of the acquired system in the overall architecture and using this to define the various dependencies on integrations and users. One part was also to describe the location of the master data and the definition of the factors inherited from it among the different systems, so that the overall data remains as intact and traceable as possible.
The topic of the thesis was selected as part of the project within the scope of work and the need to create a more comprehensive picture of the system for its acquisition. The system is used in the company's daily purchases and requires integration with other functions and systems in use, such as the company's central warehouse and financial management. The system therefore also has a direct impact on the company's accounting, accounts payable invoicing processes and material logistics functions.
The thesis is functional in form and initially in the theoretical part the concepts necessary for the whole are explained as precisely as possible. Later in the work, we will familiarize ourselves with the description of practical parts and the creation of an overall architectural picture. In the final results, it was found to be important to understand the complexity of the system in the overall architecture and the impact on other functions of the company. Different dependencies, data contents and system functionalities must be understood correctly so that the requirements regarding them can also be correctly described when purchasing the system. The final results of the work were felt to be important and company was satisfied with them.
