Tiivistelmä
This thesis contains how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected ground handling. In this report, we will go through how ground handling has changed after the COVID-19 pandemic and what are the consequences. Also, this report contains ground handling employees’ concerns and well-being during the pandemic.
The aim is to understand how ground-handling employees feel/go through the changes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The study starts with an introduction to ground handling at the Helsinki Airport. This thesis aims at understanding how extensively the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted different areas in ground handling and employees.
The study continues with general information about aviation and ground handling, after that, we go through theory and survey-related questions/answers.
After analyzing and going through the survey answers, I came across how employees weren’t satisfied with how employers handled the whole situation at the beginning of the pandemic at the workplace. Even though the whole pandemic situation and the outcomes were unexpected and weren’t familiar to the employers either, employees expected more communication and clear instructions.
The research method is a survey that was done online via webropol. The number of respondents was Seventeen. The participants were ground-handling employees, the survey was done at the beginning of 2022.
The data in this study are secondary data and primary data.
