The goal of the thesis is to evaluate and identify the potential for the
development of farm tourism in Mang Den through understanding the needs, desires, and experiences of visitors towards agritourism in Vietnam. From there, come up with strategies, and build a business model suitable for the resources available here. Moreover, this thesis will also focus on analyzing the current situation of rural tourism, the potentials, and challenges when operating and developing the farm stay model for tourists in the Mang Den region of Vietnam. An interview with a travel agency and a practical observation of farm stay establishments operating in the area was conducted for this thesis. The study demonstrates a number of different limitations and challenges that need to be addressed in the industry. Although the history of rural tourism in Vietnam is not one of success, through a number of success stories in the world and Vietnam, we believe that this research unit will help rural tourism companies. Furthermore, through this thesis project, reliable data will be collected that will be useful in applying our farm stay development model plan in the near future.
