This thesis aims to improve the recognizability of Elämys Ski & Active in social media by creating a TikTok account for the company. The commissioner is part of Elämys Group, which is a leading provider of contemporary travel services in Finland. It oversees a number of reputable companies that cater to both individual and business travellers with a variety of travel goods and services, from beach vacations and skiing holidays to business trips.
The theoretical framework chapter focuses on the importance of social media marketing for companies. The theory includes how various social media platforms differ from others in marketing regarding customer segmentation and content. The main focus is on TikTok marketing, which is visualized with a SWOT analysis in addition to the theory.
The product itself is described thoroughly in the empirical part. This part of the study includes the whole process of creating the TikTok marketing videos for the commissioner. The author decided to make a promotional video for an exhibition, SkiExpo 2022, to increase the number of visitors at the event. Other videos included trending topics of TikTok in 2022 that would increase the interaction with possible customers.
The study showed that good planning, timing and participation in trending topics can increase the number of views when creating TikTok videos.
