Tiivistelmä
The paper reviewed the need of the patient to achieve the possible treatment through pain assessment based on sound judgment. The role of nurses assumes primary responsibility for pain assessment, by using pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments, patients’ responses to pain therapies, and helping patients to understand and endure their suffering. This study aims to describe the type of nursing care intervention that is helpful to alleviate patients’ cancer pain.
A scoping method was used for this study to provide a detailed state of research on a particular topic and the state of research on a specific subject. Data were analyzed using a scoping analysis. Six articles were chosen in which 3 themes were identified: Coordination of care, Communication, and social treatment
The results show that nurses have a vital role as caregivers of patients suffering from cancer pain. Their duty is multifactorial, placing them as the pivot point of communication both with the family and the rest of the health care team without forgetting the need to attend to the patient with Caritas. In addition, there are promising developments ongoing related to nursing care of patients suffering from cancer pain contributing to more research possibilities and practical implications such as clone therapy providing significant potential for preventing cancer. The literature utilized in this final paper's findings was limited, and this may have been caused by the small number of published articles on the topic or insufficient database searches due to the author's lack of knowledge and experience.
