The purpose of this thesis is to demonstrate how having a well-structured strategic plan can assist a start-up business to attain a sustained competitive advantage along with describing some solutions that help a business deal with the intractable issues it may confront along the way.
Yazd Metal Smelting Company was selected as the commissioning company for this study. Qualitative research was the primary method used to collect the appropriate data. The author used nonprobability purposive sampling and interviewed the company's CEO. The author then identified the company's pitfalls and provided solutions to address them by using content analysis.
This study revealed that even large and long-established companies are deprived of a sustained competitive advantage because they do not fully exploit their resources. By providing all the necessary information, this thesis can assist other researchers in seeking different techniques and strategies to achieve a sustained competitive advantage for the relevant businesses.
