Lapsen sekä nuoren suru ja siinä tukeminen: verkko-oppimateriaali sosiaali- ja terveysalan opiskelijoille

Abstract

Suru on tunne, jonka jokainen voi tuntea vastauksena mihin tahansa menetykseen tai muutokseen. Suru voi ilmetä monessa eri muodossa, ja varsinkin lapsien sekä nuorten kohdalla sitä voi olla vaikeaa tunnistaa. Sosiaali- ja terveysalan ammattilaiset kohtaavat työssään surua sekä surevia lapsia ja perheitä. Tämä opinnäytetyö on tehty Kaakkois-Suomen ammattikorkeakoululle. Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli tiedon lisääminen eri-ikäisten lasten ja nuorten surun käsittelystä sekä siitä, miten sitä voidaan tukea. Tarkoituksena oli tuottaa sosiaali- ja terveysalan opiskelijoille itsenäisesti suoritettava verkko-oppimateriaali lapsen ja nuoren surusta sekä siinä tukemisesta. Verkko-oppimateriaalin tavoitteena oli lisätä opiskelijoiden tietoa siitä, mitä suru on, miten lapsi suree, kuinka lapsi eri ikäkausina käyttäytyy surevana ja miten lasta voidaan tukea surun keskellä. Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin tuotekehitysprosessina Jämsän ja Mannisen (2000) luoman teorian pohjalta. Tuotekehitykseen sisältyy viisi erillistä päävaihetta. Kehittämistarpeen tunnistaminen, jonka tarkoitus oli tiedon lisääminen ammattilaisille lapsen surusta ja siinä tukemisesta. Ideavaiheessa pohdimme aivoriihen avulla keinoja ja työkaluja toteuttaa verkko-oppimateriaali. Luonnosteluvaiheen tarkoituksena oli teoreettisen viitekehyksen rakentaminen. Kehittelyvaiheessa suunnittelimme ja valmistelimme verkko-oppimateriaalin valmiiseen muotoonsa ja viimeistelyvaiheessa viimeistelimme palautekyselyn pohjalta verkko-oppimateriaalin valmiiksi. Saimme idean tuotekehitysprosessiin toimeksiantajaltamme. Opinnäytetyön teoreettinen viitekehys antoi pohjan oppimateriaalin laatimiseen. Teoreettinen viitekehys piti sisällään myös verkko-oppimateriaalin kehittämistä tukevat laatukriteerit. Tuotekehitysprosessina syntyi verkko-oppimateriaali Learn-oppimisympäristöön. Valmis tuote testattiin sosiaali- ja terveysalan opiskelijoilla. Jatkotutkimusaiheena pohdimme tekemämme verkko-oppimateriaalin jatkojalostamista sosiaali- ja terveysalan ammattilaisten käyttöä varten suruoppaan muodossa.

Grief is an emotion that anyone can feel in response to loss or change. Grief can manifest itself in many different ways, and it can be difficult to identify, especially in children and young people. Social and health care professionals encounter grief and grieving children and families in their work.This thesis has been made for South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences. The aim of the thesis was to increase knowledge about the handling of grief in children and young people of different ages and how it can be supported. The purpose of the thesis was to produce online learning material for social and health care students that can be completed independently. The material contains information about the grief of children and young people, and how to support them. The aim of the online material was to increase students´- knowledge of what grief is, how a child grieves, how a child behaves when in grief different ages and how a child can be supported when grieving. The thesis was implemented as a product development process based on the theory created by Jämsä & Manninen (2000). Product development includes five separate main phases. Identifying the need for development, the purpose of which was to increase information about a child’s grief and how to support them. In the idea phase, we used brainstorming ways and tools to implement online learning material. The purpose on the sketching phase was to build a theoretical framework. In the development phase, we planned and prepared the e-learning material to its final form, during the finalization phase, we improved the e-learning material based on the feedback survey. We got the idea for the product development process from our client. The theoretical framework of the thesis provided the basis for assembling the learning material. The theoretical framework also contained the quality criteria supporting the development of online learning material. As a product development process, online learning material was created into the Learn -learning environment. The finished product was tested on social and health care students. As a further research topic, we are considering the further refinement of the online learning material we made for the social and health care professionals in the form of a grief guide.
