The aim of this thesis is to present a baseline for the sustainability of the cooperative bank OP Raseborg offices, followed by suggestions on how to improve the situation and discuss what could be the possible next steps for the bank and its employees.
OP Raseborg has adopted a responsibility programme and has set out climate protection goals but lacks input into what changes should be done practically at the four offices, so that environmental aspects could be taken into consideration even further.
As a theoretical background for the project different frameworks, concepts, and tools such as corporate social responsibility (CSR), environmental social and governance (ESG) and life cycle assessment (LCA) are briefly presented. Material for the baseline was gathered through an interview and personal communication, using questions based on the WWF Green Office self assessment. The main points of improvement concerned the waste sorting at the offices, the electricity deal; office space and indoor temperature are also subject to discussion.
This qualitative case study is an initial step for the offices of OP Raseborg to examine their situation, but for further measures more research and possibly collaboration with the OP Financial Group main office should be considered.
