The thesis topic was chosen because of the potential effect that the findings could have in terms of improving the quality of their sustainability reporting and the level of transparency between Sandvik and their stakeholders.
The research question was answered by researching Sandvik’s public information and comparing their data with that of competitors. The extent to which Sandvik adheres to the sustainability reporting frameworks was used to deter-mine whether there was room for improvement in Sandvik's sustainability reporting.
The results of the analysis showed that there were many aspects that could be potentially improved, and in this report, we discuss how those aspects can be improved. Sandvik's sustainability could be improved by making their website more cohesive and fluid, adding more information to the annual report, and making it easier to search for relevant and specific data that interests various stakeholders.
