TIIVISTELMÄ
Opinnäytetyössä tutkitaan 1.3.2021 alkaneen työllisyyden kuntakokeilun kautta Tampereen seudun ammattiopisto Treduun tulleiden opiskelijoiden kokemuksia työpajajaksolta. Työpajat on nimetty Tredussa duunipajoiksi. Tutkielmassa keskeisinä kysymyksinä oli, millainen merkitys duunipajaksolla ja saadulla uraohjauksella oli osana opiskelijoiden elämänsuunnittelua, uratarinaa ja identiteetin vahvistamista. Opinnäytetyössä haastateltiin Tredun duunipajojen opiskelijoita.
Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli tutkia pajajakson merkityksellisyyttä opiskelijoiden käsitykseen itsestään, heidän ammatilliseen minäkuvaansa, urasuunnitelmaansa ja heidän kokemuksiaan pajajaksolta. Tutkimuksessa haastateltiin kuutta duunipajan opiskelijaa ja haastateltavien valinnassa käytettiin harkinnanvaraista otantamenetelmää eli ns. eliittiotantaa. Tutkimus oli laadullinen puolistrukturoitu teemahaastattelu. Opinnäytetyön tutkimusosion haastattelutulosten tarkasteluun valittiin elämänsuunnittelun ja narratiivisen ohjauksen näkökulma. Aineistonanalyysimenetelmänä käytettiin teorialähtöistä sisällön analyysia.
Pajajakso selkiytti haastateltavien ammatillisia tulevaisuuden suunnitelmia, alavalintaa, urasuunnittelua, vahvisti ammatillista identiteettiä sekä lisäsi heidän uskoaan omiin kykyihinsä. Jokaisella haastateltavalla on jatkosuunnitelma pajajakson jälkeen. Neljä haastateltavista on saanut opiskelupaikan ammatillisesta perustutkinnosta Tredussa, yhden opiskelijavalinta Treduun on vielä kesken ja yksi on työllistynyt, mutta aikoo hakea myöhemmin opiskelemaan Treduun. Pajajakson vaikuttavuus nuorten elämän- ja urasuunnitteluun on tulkintamme mukaan merkittävä.
Tredu voi hyödyntää tutkielman tuloksia kehittäessään duunipajojen toimintaa työllisyys- ja kasvupalvelujen asiakkaille sekä Opetushallituksen Opiskelijan äänellä -verkostohankkeessa, jossa Tredu on mukana 2023-2025. Hankkeen tavoitteena on kehittää, vahvistaa ja vakiinnuttaa Tredun duunipajapalvelumallia. Muut oppilaitokset voivat hyödyntää opinnäytetyön tuloksia suunnitellessaan ja kehittäessään erilaisia pajatyyppisiä oppimisympäristöjä.

This thesis discussed the workshop experiences of students who entered Tampere Vocational College Tredu through a local government pilot on employment that started on 1 March 2021. At Tredu, the workshops are called duunipaja workshops. The thesis focused on the impact that the workshop period and the provided vocational counselling had on the life design, career story and identity strengthening of the students. Students who participated in Tredu’s duunipaja workshops were interviewed for the thesis.
The aim of the thesis was to examine the significance of the workshop period for the students’ perception of themselves, their professional self-image and career plan as well as the students’ experiences of the workshop period. Six students who participated in the duunipaja workshops were interviewed for the thesis, and the interviewees were selected using the discretionary sampling method, i.e., so-called elite sampling. The research method utilised was a qualitative semi-structured focused interview. The interview results from the research component of the thesis were reviewed from the perspective of life design and narrative counselling, whereas theory-based content analysis was used as the method for analysing the material.
The workshop period clarified choice of field and career planning of the interviewees, strengthened the professional identity and increased their belief in their own abilities. All interviewees had a plan for what to do after the workshop period. Of the interviewees, four had been admitted into Tredu for a vocational upper secondary qualification, one is still in the process of applying for a study place at Tredu and one has been employed but is planning to apply later to Tredu. The workshop period seemed to have a significant impact on the life design and career planning of the students.
Tredu can use the results of the thesis when developing the workshop activities for the customers of employment and growth services as well as in the Opiskelijan äänellä network project organised by the Finnish National Agency for Education in which Tredu is participating in 2023-2025. The aim of the project is to develop and establish Tredu’s duunipaja workshop model. Other educational institutions can use the results of the thesis when designing and developing different workshop-type learning environments.
