Tiivistelmä
The main purpose of the thesis is to introduce reader with currently commonly used principles for native Android development and to show an example how application can be developed by following introduced practices. Thesis also briefly compares different Android development techniques such as cross-platform development.
The first part of the thesis describes platforms and techniques which can be used for Android application development and comparison among them. The main focus is aimed on native Android development with Kotlin language and Jetpack Compose.
The middle part of the thesis describes currently followed development principles for native Android mobile development. This section includes design principles and architectural patterns for native Android applications. The purpose is to introduce reader with practices, which are implemented in the practical part of the thesis.
Last part of the thesis shows native Android application with real usage of practices mentioned in previous chapters. This section contains brief look into native Nutrition Recorder Android application development. Creation of application design, architecture showcase and applied functionality such as user authentication and work with remote and local data. Section also discusses data related problem which appeared during early stages of application development.
