Tiivistelmä
The rapid expansion of mixed reality technology has led to the development of various dedicated toolkits aimed at its implementation. One notable toolkit in this realm is the Mixed Reality Toolkit 2 (MRTK2), which has gained popularity for its ability to create captivating immersive games. However, despite the availability of tutorials, there is a noticeable scarcity of academic research surrounding MRTK2. This research gap serves as the motivation for this study, aiming to shed light on the architecture, usability, and functionality of MRTK2, while also evaluating the effort required for developing mixed reality applications using this toolkit. Central to this investigation are key features such as surface magnetism, hand tracking, UI controls, spatial sound, and the teleportation system. These features are incorporated into projects based on specific requirements and objectives related to developer experience. By documenting the findings of this research in a developer journal, the academic discourse on MRTK2 will expand. Additionally, this thesis analyzes and concludes the experiences of a developer using MRTK2.
