Koronan ja mahdollisen henkilökuntavajeen vaikutukset laadukkaaseen varhaiskasvatukseen Jokilaakson vuoropäiväkodissa

Abstract

Korona ja henkilökuntavaje ovat koetelleet varhaiskasvatusta. Koronan aikana ja nyt jälkeen esiin tullut henkilökuntavaje on puhuttanut valtakunnallisesti paljon. Nämä molemmat ovat haastaneet laadukkaan varhaiskasvatuksen toteutusta ja varhaiskasvatuslain tavoitteiden toteutumista.

Tavoitteena oli tuottaa selvitys Jokilaakson vuoropäiväkodille, jossa tulee ilmi koronan ja henkilökuntavajeen vaikutukset laadukkaaseen varhaiskasvatukseen. Eli tuottaa dokumentaatio, jossa näkyy Jokilaakson vuoropäiväkodin henkilökunnan sekä vanhempien näkökulma aiheesta. Tavoitteena oli saada selville mitä vaikutuksia henkilökuntavajeella on ollut henkilöstön ja vanhempien näkökulmasta sekä onko jotakin muutoksi jouduttu sen myötä tekemään, jota voisivat vaikuttaa heikentävästi varhaiskasvatukseen.

Selvitys toteutettiin tekijän aloitteesta ja yhteistyötä tehtiin Jokilaakson vuoropäiväkodin kanssa koko prosessin ajan. Tutkimuksen tuloksena Jokilaakson vuoropäiväkodille syntyi selvitys, jossa näkyy miten varhaiskasvatuksen tavoitteet ovat toteutuneet eli tarkoituksena oli tarkastella laadukkaan varhaiskasvatuksen toteutumista Jokilaakson vuoropäiväkodissa. Selvityksen tehtävänä on, että Jokilaakson vuoropäiväkoti pystyy hyödyntämään tuloksia kehittämiseen ja saa tietoa koronana sekä henkilökuntavajeen vaikutuksista päiväkodissa.

Tutkimus toteutettiin käyttäen laadullista tutkimusmenetelmää. Aineistonkeruuseen käytettiin Google Forms alustalla tehtyjä kyselyitä. Kysely tehtiin erikseen varhaiskasvatuksen työntekijöille, vanhemmille ja päiväkodin johtajalle.

Tulosten perusteella kuitenkin tavoitteita vastaavaa varhaiskasvatusta on osittain pystytty toteuttamaan eikä mikään tavoite ole jäänyt lainkaan toteuttamatta. Tulosten mukaan korona ja henkilökuntavaje ovat aiheuttaneet muutoksia varhaiskasvatuksen toteuttamiseen.

Corona and staff shortages have tested early childhood education. The shortage of personnel that emerged during and after the corona virus has spoken a lot nationally. Both of these have challenged the implementation of high-quality early childhood education and the realization of the goals of the Early Childhood Education Act.

The goal was to produce a report for Jokilaakso's daycare center, which reveals the effects of the corona virus and the lack of resources on quality early childhood education. That is, produce documentation that shows the perspective of the Jokilaakso daycare center staff and parents on the subject. The goal was to find out what effects the lack of resources has had from the perspective of the staff and parents, and whether any changes have had to be made as a result, which could have a weakening effect on early childhood education.

The investigation was carried out at the author's initiative and cooperation was carried out with the Jokilaakso daycare center throughout the process. As a result of the research, a report was created for the Jokilaakso day care center, which shows how the goals of early childhood education have been realized, i.e. the purpose was to examine the implementation of high-quality early childhood education in the Jokilaakso day care center. The task of the report is that Jokilaakso's day care center is able to use the results for development and to get information about corona and the effects of staff shortages in the day care center.

The research was carried out using a qualitative research method. Surveys made on the Google Forms platform were used for data collection. The survey was conducted separately for early childhood education workers, parents and the director of the kindergarten.

Based on the results, however, early childhood education that corresponds to the goals has partially been able to be implemented and no goal has been left unfulfilled at all. According to the results, Corona and the shortage of staff have caused changes in the implementation of early childhood education.
