Tiivistelmä
In uncertain times, a proactive attitude toward change is needed amongst all companies. The objective of this research is to create new knowledge on harnessing the possibilities of employees' competencies to business model innovation activities. This research is a continuation to firm- level ecosystem action plan created for the Service Business by Vähänikkilä and Vakkuri (2022). This research is tied to “Limelight” project activities taking place at Laurea University of Applied Sciences (Espoo, Finland) newly built Events Living Lab. This research focuses on BMI in the hospitality industry. We use theories and concepts from fields of study: business ecosystem, business model, and innovation underpinnings of this research. The potential contribution of this research creates value for two audiences. As this research contributes to scholars by providing academic discussion on business model innovation, it will also contribute to business practitioners by providing hands-on knowledge to managers and executives.
