Web development has transformed over the years from static websites to comprehensive full stack web applications. Although one can still create a static website using the same basic technologies as before, the development of a full stack web application is greatly enhanced by utilizing modern tools and technologies.
The objective of the thesis was to find the most used web development tools and technologies. The results were based on a developer survey and installation data from package managers. Finally, a full stack web application with functionality to create, read, update, and delete data, was developed. Full stack means the combination of frontend and backend.
The thesis could be continued by researching deploying of a web application to the internet for others to use.
