Tiivistelmä
This thesis aimed to develop and evaluate a mobile app replacing traditional plastic loyalty cards with digital versions while improving the app's user interface (UI) and user experience (UX). The research question was how to create an app that makes it easier and more convenient for users to manage their loyalty cards and improve the overall user experience.
The thesis was primarily practical, and the structure of the thesis was divided into several parts. First, the central concepts related to loyalty programs and mobile app development were explained. The thesis then proceeded by discussing the development project, including the design and implementation of the app, as well as the testing and evaluation process. The primary research method used was user testing, where participants were asked to use the app and provide feedback on its design and functionality.
The findings of the research indicated that the mobile app was successful in replacing traditional plastic loyalty cards, and participants found the app to be user-friendly and convenient to use. The recognizable icons used in the app were well-liked by users, and the "Add Card", "Collect Stamps", and "Redeem Offers" features were rated highly in terms of ease of use. Some participants suggested improvements, such as allowing users to scan their physical loyalty cards to add them to the app and providing more information about how many stamps are needed to earn a reward.
Overall, the research demonstrates the potential of mobile apps to replace traditional plastic loyalty cards and improve the user experience of loyalty programs.
