The thesis aims to explore the ways remote companies have enhanced successful remote social interaction in remote working. The study targets CEOs/HR managers/people managers/similar of remote-first and remote-only companies in Europe and the USA.
The research will examine the usefulness of different remote work social interaction practices and virtual team-building activities and provide insights for remote companies to improve their social interaction practices. Data was collected via an online survey using Google Forms. The questionnaire data were exported to Microsoft Excel where the analysis and diagrams were conducted and analyzed for each of the quantitative questions.
The study suggests various effective practices to promote remote social interaction such as effective communication, regular check-ins, remote team building, etc. The study also highlights the significance of virtual team-building activities, including virtual icebreakers, scavenger hunts, and virtual happy hours. US companies are shown to be more advanced in implementing remote social interaction practices, but both US and Europe companies use various practices to promote a positive work atmosphere.
