Lack of effective communication gives a negative effect to an organisation which to a great extent contributes to the failure of an organisation not achieving it goals. The main objective of this study assesses the impact of effective communication on the organisational performance of Ntarinkon Cooperative Credit Union Limited. Specifically, the study identifies the basic steps for effective communication in an organisation, the challenges of effective communication in an organisation as well as to various types of communication put in place to enhance organizational growth.
The concept of effective communication, elements of effective communication, barriers to effective communication, as well as the factors influencing communication are the main elements of the theoretical framework of the study. The descriptive research design was used with data collected from 54 working staff of Ntarinkon Cooperative Credit Union Limited using closed structured questionnaires. The data was evaluated using descriptive statistics in form of tables, and cluster bar charts. The result shows there is a working and easy feedback system in the office. Lack of employee engagement in the communication process was seen as the major challenge in communication process. Finally, written communication (an email, typing out a quick text, slack message, writing a report) was seen as the effective means of communication used in Ntarinkon Cooperative Credit Union.
