Tiivistelmä
In this site installation supervision guide is described all the most relevant contents and actions for the site installation supervision. In this document the site installation supervision refers to monitoring the work from the customer’s side, not being a foreman, as a supervisor is normally understood. The main targets and responsibilities for site installation supervision are discussed as well as how project management can easily follow the progress of the site installation. Scheduling monitoring and reporting are important part of the site installation supervisor work. A site installation supervision plan is needed to properly design supervision and for documentation of supervision and supervision execution. With site installation supervision it is secured that production facilities with all the installed devices and systems are properly installed, requirements and expectations for device and system functionality are fulfilled, and everything works determined by the relevant authorities or specified by the customer.
Site installation supervision tasks also include the supervision of installations during work on the site. It is important to note that the site installation supervisor does have any foreman duties, he/she only observes and reports to the customer, installation companies, and contractors. The site installation supervisor has no legal rights to govern employees of companies other than his own. During work on the site, the site installation supervisor sees to it that all the safety precautions and working instructions are followed properly on the site and all work is done according to approved and good installation practices.
At site setup the site installation supervisor is also in an important role. All the devices and facilities have taken into use making sure that they meet all design requirements and that the documentation for their use is sufficient. The site installation supervisor takes part in inspections and tests to make sure everything works correctly. All tests and inspections are documented in the prescribed way. Documents are collected and stored for the customer.
