The purpose of this thesis was to look into the different orientation methods for sales team leaders in company x. This thesis aims to research and analyze different orientation methods found from various sources and collect information on the orientation process in four stores in the Turku business area.
The theoretical part of this thesis discusses different orientation methods and how they affect the actual orientation. Data was collected with Teams interviews and a survey with Webropol. Four team leaders were interviewed, and eighteen employees responded to the survey.
The study results show that orientation works well on a general level, but there are a few aspects to improve for a more efficient orientation. Communication and clearly communicating the expectations and how the orientation process will take place is crucial. Team spirit, which is one of the company values, became evident to new employees during the orientation. The company's training tool Academy was praised but is not utilized to its full potential. Employees do not have proper ways and time to use the Academy. The conclusion gives a point of view on which part of the orientation can be improved and some suggestions on how to do that. How orientation will proceed and what will be expected could be added to the routines of the orientations.
