The aim of this thesis was to develop a remote onboarding program for the company KIKI’s Home Box, underpinned by an exploration of the fundamental concepts intrinsic to the onboarding process, emphasizing its significance for both the organization and its employees. Deliberations involving the compa-ny's representative and the author culminated in the selection of this topic, driven by the recognized need for more robust Human Resources (HR) pro-cesses in the context of KIKI’s Home Box, a recently established enterprise currently in the process of solidifying its HR practices. This thesis designed and aimed to implement an onboarding program that fosters deep compre-hension of the company’s culture, vision, mission, and values for employee self-development.
Employing a mixed-method research approach, encompassing qualitative and quantitative methods, the study involved an interview with the CEO and found-er of the commissioning company to extract insights, needs, and expectations for the final product of the onboarding program. Simultaneously, a compre-hensive review of existing literature enhanced the understanding of the bene-fits associated with tailored onboarding initiatives. The development process underscored addressing challenges in understanding the company's vision, ensuring comprehensive information dissemination, integrating feedback mechanisms, cultivating a sense of belonging, and leveraging technological tools to enrich the onboarding experience, make it engaging and healthy for remote employees.
The research culminated in the creation of a comprehensive and adaptable onboarding program for KIKI’s Home Box, characterized by personalized goals, regular interactions, and flexible duration. The positive feedback re-ceived confirmed the alignment of the final product with the company's opera-tional framework, affirming its efficacy in meeting predetermined expectations. Considering the specific needs and objectives of KIKI’s Home Box, the rec-ommendations encompass the development of tailored training modules for new employees, leveraging Microsoft Teams with suggested features, imple-mentation of customized checklists, prioritization of regular feedback sessions, provision of comprehensive wellness programs, and the establishment of a structured mechanism for periodic program assessment. These recommenda-tions are designed to foster an inclusive and supportive onboarding experi-ence that aligns with the company's vision and long-term growth strategies.
