Detta examensarbete har utförts åt Oy Närpes Trä & Metall Ab. Företaget tillverkar lastbilspåbyggnader för släpvagnar och sopbilar. Företaget har sin huvudfabrik i Närpes med dotterbolag i övriga Europa och Nordamerika. NTM koncernen har ca. 650 anställda internationellt.
Uppdraget från företaget var att konstruera en vattentank till högtryckstvättar som monteras på sopbilar. Vattentanken skulle ha en enkel konstruktion med ett lågt komponentantal för att förenkla tankens tillverkning. Vattentanken skulle monteras till sidan av sopbilschassit och för detta var det viktigt att tankens infästning till chassit inte förhindrade montering av övriga chassitillbehör och tillvalsutrustning. Examensarbetet avgränsades så att enbart konstruktionen av vattentanken togs med i arbetet.
Examensarbetets metod gick ut på att först skapa ett koncept för vattentanken utifrån de krav som fastställdes i början av konstruktionsprocessen. Detta koncept skulle sedan vidareutvecklas till en funktionell vattentank med utrymme för högtryckstvättens vattenpump. Komponenterna som bygger upp vattentanken skulle ha en enkel konstruktion med tanke på tillverkningen av de enskilda komponenterna samt tillverkningen av tanken som helhet. CAD programmet SolidWorks användes för att skapa 3D modeller för vattentanken och dess komponenter.
Konstruktionsprocessens resultat är en fullt funktionell vattentank som uppfyller de krav som fastställdes i början och under denna konstruktionsprocess. This bachelor thesis work has been made for Oy Närpes Trä & Metall Ab. The company manufactures superstructures for trailers and refuse collection vehicles. The company has its headquarters in Närpes with daughter companies in Europe and North America. The NTM group has around 650 employees internationally.
The assignment from the company was to design a water tank for pressure washers which were to be mounted on refuse collection vehicles. The water tank was to have a simple design with a low number of components in order to simplify the manufacturing of the tank. The water tank was to be mounted to the side of the truck chassis, for which it was important that the tank’s method of attachment to the chassis would not hinder the mounting of other components and optional equipment. The work was limited such that the construction and design of the water tank alone would be included.
The method of this work was to first create a concept of the water tank based on the requirements that were established at the start of the construction process. This concept would then be further developed into a fully functional water tank with space for a water pump for the pressure washer. The components that make up the water tank were to have a simple construction considering the manufacture of the individual components as well as the manufacture of the tank as a whole. The CAD program SolidWorks was used to create 3D models of the water tank and its components.
The result of the construction process is a fully functional water tank that meets the requirements that were established at the start and during this construction process.
